The pictured street and telephone poles are overwhelmed with unpredictable flooding caused
by climate change. With the word “inundate” meaning both “to overwhelm” and “to flood,” the
metaphorical and literal definitions collide in this photo. The planet has and will continue to inundate us
with calls to action to better reconnect and respect Earth, leaving us with natural disasters on our
answering machines.
